Incredible Birthday!

For Kael's 3rd Bithday we had a costume party with Kael's friend Penelope who's also has an October birthday.  All the kids dressed up and we had spider cup cakes, mummy hot dogs, witch's brew rootbeer and all sorts of fun!  Kael had been talking about his party for at least a month and he was so excited.

I woke up to the sound of him opening his presents and had to shout from my bed, "wait for me! I want to see you open your presents!"

Kael dressed up as Dash from the Incredibles, and Silas dressed as Jack Jack.  All day he called me Elasta-girl and his Dad Mr. Incredible.

Run Fast Like Dash!

 Adam was able to come and help at the party and what a fabulous help he was!  He took all the pictures, watched Silas and was his amazing self!

 We had a costume parade so that we could see all of the kids wonderful costumes.

Army Toy Box

My mom uses my Grandpa's (her Dad's) old army boxes as toy boxes and these boys think they are great.  We decided that my grandpa was probably smiling at the sight of these two boys climbing in and out of the box!

Maze

We went to a corn maze and had tons of fun.

Kael said the ducky water race was his favorite.  Adam agreed that it was his favorite too.  The slide was my favorite, but I also really liked the cow train ride.  Silas loved the corn seed box the best I think.  Amazingly he didn't even try to eat the corn seeds and he laughed when his brother threw the seeds in the air!

We saved the actual maze for last and it was getting dark by the time we started.  In retrospect I will never go through a corn maze with small children again.  We took the easy one and it still lasted a lot longer than I expected.  Thank goodness for Adam or I would still be lost among the corn!  Kael got tired of the "hike" quite quickly.  but we made it out!

Picnic at the Park

We've been having some of the most fabulous fall weather.  As we walked our dog to the park Kael learned the fun of crunching the leaves.  He would look for the largest pile of leaves and then - "crunch, crunch, crunch." 

Today we walked to the park and had a picnic as a family!  Nobody else even approached the park!  Sometimes I love small towns, it was like we had reserved it just for us.  It was perfect.
