Chinese New Year

In elementary school I had an awesome teacher, her name was Mrs. C. (she had a long last name!)  Mrs. C. always celebrated Chinese New Year.  Every year I intead to eat chinese or do something festive but then life happens and I miss the day entirely!  This year we celebrated!

The boys, Adam and I made chinese latterns, went out to lunch and a local chinese restaurant and colored dragons (since this year is the year of the dragon!)  We ate dinner at home with some chopsticks and and Asian style table setting my sister gave me.  It was fun to celebrate something unique in the middle of January!

I wish I had thought of that when I had kids at home.

I love it! I'm going to write it down in my calendar for next year so that I can have fun with the kiddos at work! Your dragons were fantastic!

Dearest Lisa!!!
You made my day...week...month..and definitely my Chinese New Year! Your children are beautiful and so are you! I was looking for my "little Lisa" in the face of that incredible MOM and sure enough there you are. I think of you all and remember how amazing the Price kids were (are) What talent!
Thank you for remembering our time together. It made me feel glad. Love and Blessings to all of you.
Peggy Chamberlain....old Mrs. C. who is happily still teaching at your elementary school.

Good for you!!! I love that Mrs. C. found your blog and commented. I remember how we all used to beg to massage her feet during story time. Second graders are so weird!
